U.S. Indian Agent, mine operator, businessman, probation officer, and journalist, George W. Ingalls lived and worked in several western states from 1870 to 1915. In the 1870's Ingalls served as U.S. Indian Agent for Nevada, Utah, and southeastern California and was later appointed agent for the Consolidated Cherokee, Creek, Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Seminole Indian tribes.
